You'll be joining TikTok's Global Ecommerce Legal team - a dynamic, highly collaborative group at the forefront of shaping how digital commerce evolves in the UK and across Europe. We advise on some of the most high-profile, complex, and fast-moving issues in the ecommerce and technology space, supporting a business that is scaling at extraordinary pace.
As part of this team, you'll work closely with colleagues across Europe and globally, partnering with business leaders, product innovators, and cross-functional specialists to tackle novel legal and regulatory challenges. From consumer protection and digital regulation to IP, competition law, and emerging AI frameworks, the team plays a central role in driving compliant, creative, and commercially savvy solutions.

You will play a central role in shaping the future of TikTok's ecommerce business in Europe. Working at the cutting edge of digital regulation and online commerce, you will:
- Be a trusted advisor on a broad spectrum of legal issues, including consumer protection, product compliance, competition law, intellectual property, advertising, and digital regulation.
- Guide the business through emerging regulatory landscapes, including the UK Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act, EU Digital Services Act, UK Online Safety Act and evolving AI-related regulation, helping ensure compliant and future-ready operations.
- Support innovation and new product development, advising on commercial and product initiatives across marketplace, creator partnerships, advertising formats, and AI-driven features.
- Lead on intellectual property matters, from brand protection and enforcement to user-generated content and licensing models.
- Oversee strategic disputes and litigation risk, managing contentious issues pragmatically while protecting the company's reputation and commercial interests.
- Draft, negotiate, and close key commercial agreements, from retailer and brand partnerships, to creator and technology collaborations.
- Contribute to competition law strategy, advising on platform practices, merchant engagement, and data use in line with evolving regulatory expectations.
- Shape internal processes and training, creating playbooks, templates, and guidance that empower the business to move quickly while managing legal risk.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, policy, privacy, and compliance teams in the UK, EU and globally, driving complex projects forward at speed.
- Stay ahead of the curve, monitoring legal, regulatory and industry trends across ecommerce, retail, technology and AI, and proactively preparing the business for change.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
- Senior UK or EU qualified Lawyer, with a strong academic background and experience advising on platform liability, intellectual property, consumer protection and other regulatory matters, with an ecommerce focus.
- Knowledge of UK and EU laws as they apply to the retail and ecommerce sectors.
- Solid experience in drafting and negotiating agreements across the retail, creative, and advertising industries.
- Strong documentation, presentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently on many different projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- In-house experience in an international matrixed organisation.
- Ecommerce experience focused on platform liability, intellectual property, consumer protection and other regulatory requirements..
- Deep understanding of the evolving European regulatory landscape as it pertains to digital commerce and online marketplaces.
