[Knowledge and AI Enablement] within the Technology Department

Purpose of job:
This pivotal role exists at the intersection of knowledge management, legal AI enablement and practice technology.
In summary, you will responsible for evaluating, developing and ensuring adoption of knowledge-backed systems/processes and appropriate legal practice technology, with a strong focus on driving Legal AI transformation among lawyers.
The wide remit of this position would suit an energetic and proactive individual with an entrepreneurial spirit and strong team-working skills.
Key responsibilities:
Core responsibilities of this role include:
Knowledge-backed systems and processes: You will help shape and execute a forward-looking knowledge strategy that leverages AI and emerging technologies to enhance legal practice and client service. As part of this, you will:
be a Subject-Matter Expert (SME) for all knowledge-backed systems, tools and processes in our firm.
help curate and leverage legal knowledge and data in the firm; identify ways to augment and automate knowledge processes; deliver training to lawyers; and be a key liaison with our firm's cohort of Knowledge Lawyers.
assist in drafting responses to pitches/RFPs on knowledge/technology capabilities and help formulate requirements for bespoke client offerings.
Legal AI Enablement:
You will play a prominent role in our firm's newly-formed taskforce for our "Legal Evolution in AI Program" (LEAP). As part of the taskforce, you will be directly involved (either as product owner, project manager, or SME advisor) on large-scale legal AI product pilots and implementations. You will also have a hands-on role in:
preparing business cases, measuring delivery against KPIs, and evidencing return on investment (ROI)
designing test methodology and comparison frameworks to help inform investment decisions.
providing demos and training to lawyers and clients
participating complex, multi?stakeholder projects, managing scope, timeline, resourcing, risk mitigation, testing and reporting.
Change Management:
A part of your role will be to encourage adoption of all appropriate practice technology and processes in line with agreed strategic direction and initiatives. You will also help provide ideas for troubleshooting obstacles to user engagement.
Data Reporting & Analytics:
You will analyse and synthesise usage data across a number of Knowledge/AI platforms using PowerBI dashboards.
Risk/Regulatory/Compliance support:
You will work with our firm's Office of General Counsel on issues relating to knowledge, legal technology and AI enablement.
Line Management:
This role includes line-management of three Knowledge paralegals.

Essential Experience and knowledge
Minimum of 3 years' experience of working as a knowledge professional, innovation manager, legal technologist or similar role in the legal sector.
A law degree, masters, legal apprenticeship, or similar qualification.
Skills and competencies Required Skills:
Excellent communicator, able to work with people of varying levels of seniority and technical experience and adept at translating complex information into clear, concise, and engaging content.
Experienced at delivering training and demonstrations on legal technology, with the ability to provide practice-specific examples
Sufficient knowledge of legal principles to be able to:
identify appropriate legal use cases;
tailor lawyer interactions to different target audiences;
classify knowledge assets appropriately by work type, document type, and/or legal concept.
Highly organised with good project management skills
Experience of data reporting, using data visualisation tools such as PowerBI.
Strong analytical mindset -- able to interpret usage data, feedback, and AI metrics to improve content and workflows
Desirable Skills:
Experience managing knowledge bases or structured content repositories and/or an understanding of taxonomy, metadata, and content governance frameworks.
Familiarity with AI tools, LLM-based systems, or AI knowledge ingestion processes, particularly within a legal context.
