Location:

Contract:

Fixed Term Contract (Immediate Start until October 2025)

Department:

Supply Chain

At Briggs of Burton, we're renowned for delivering innovative engineering solutions to some of the world's most recognisable brands. With a global footprint and a rich heritage, we're now looking for a Senior Logistics Specialist to join our team on a fixed-term basis to help shape and strengthen our global logistics processes.

Your Role: Operational & Strategic Logistics

In this standalone role, you will take ownership of reviewing and continuously improving our logistics processes to drive greater efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall service levels. A key focus will be on evaluating and aligning our logistics network with strategic suppliers, ensuring robust collaboration and long-term value across the supply chain. By identifying optimisation opportunities in areas such as transportation, warehousing, and supplier integration, you will help streamline operations and implement best practices. Your work will be informed by logistics KPIs and supplier performance metrics, enabling data-driven decisions that support both operational excellence and strong supplier partnerships.

This role is suited to someone who is confident working independently, with the ability to hit the ground running. You'll take ownership of both day-to-day logistics coordination and the strategic direction of our global logistics processes. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth delivery of EPC and production projects, working closely with our internal teams and external partners.

Operational Logistics Responsibilities

Manage end-to-end logistics for domestic and international shipments, across EPC and production project deliveries. Liaise closely with Production, Engineering, and Project Management teams to coordinate packages and timelines. Ensure full documentation control including shipping documents, packing lists, collection notes, and tracking via SAP. Bring your expertise in international shipping terms, documentation, and processes to ensure compliance and delivery efficiency.

Strategic Logistics Responsibilities

Review and improve logistics processes, supporting rollout of efficient and scalable logistics practices across our global business. Evaluate and align our logistics network with key suppliers, ensuring cost-effective and reliable service. Conduct internal and supplier audits, tracking performance and identifying improvements. Provide strategic insights, reports and performance data to inform delivery decisions both for customers and internal teams. Contribute to shaping a robust, forward-looking logistics function, aligning with business growth and delivery targets.

What We're Looking For

Strong background in logistics and supply chain, ideally within an engineering or manufacturing environment. Proven experience managing both operational and strategic logistics functions. Hands-on knowledge of international shipping, terms (e.g. Incoterms), customs processes, and documentation. Confident using SAP and other logistics tracking tools. A self-starter with the ability to lead independently, make informed decisions, and manage competing priorities in a standalone role. Immediate availability and ability to work in person at our Burton upon Trent office is essential.

Why Join Briggs?

You'll join a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your logistics expertise will directly support global project delivery and operational excellence. Be part of a team that values innovation, quality, and making a real-world impact.
