Due to an internal promotion, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated Golf Retail Assistant to join the Golf team here at The Dartmouth Hotel on a fixed term basis from July to October 2025.

The hotel is set in 250 acres of beautiful South Devon countryside, in a fantastic location. There are two golf courses and a driving range on site, alongside 35 guest rooms and self-catering lodges and spa and leisure facilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

You will assist in the effective and efficient management of the golf retail operation provided ensuring the highest levels of customer service at all times. This role is fixed term between July and October 2025, for 24 hours per week, working a mixture of hours and weekends. There is an option for overtime, but these are the core hours required.

Main Responsibilities include:

Merchandising shop displays and submitting offers for retail, green fees and societies. Creating and placing orders for the shop to maintain a level of stock, and completing stock takes. Answering enquiries via telephone, email and directly, following them up as and when necessary. Finalising all aspects of society bookings including confirmation of numbers, food choices and payments. Contacting previous guests, future bookings and hotel guests to confirm details and upsell extras to them where applicable. Any other tasks as directed by the Golf Manager.

Candidate Requirements

To succeed in this role, an excellent telephone manner and customer service skills are essential. Experience of golf booking systems and telephone sales is essential, and further full training will be provided. You will ideally be a passionate golfer and enjoy and understand the game fully.
