The OCHL Senior Management Accountant is a post recruited by Oxford City Council but seconded fully to work within the Council's group of housing companies. The post holder will be responsible for the production of timely management and financial accounting reports, together with supporting the wider team and Strategic Finance Manager in the production of regular, detailed, sustainable group company Business Plans. This relies on creating and fostering positive working relationships with other OCHL colleagues, the Council's Finance Team and external contacts including specialist consultants, internal/external auditors, Board Members and Government agencies. The officer will also provide cover, represent and deputise for the Strategic Finance Manager where required.
We are therefore looking for an experienced, numerate and customer focused individual with demonstrable knowledge of working at a relatively senior level in a local authority/housing finance capacity, who embraces diversity and inclusion. You will be used to working collaboratively, be flexible to meet deadlines and be output driven.
Whilst OCHL has been established since 2016 and has a detailed multi-year development programme, we are very much still growing and developing our growth strategy beyond this timeframe with the support of Oxford City Council. The opportunity to be creative, innovative and assist in the development of the company's financial governance arrangements, financial reporting, P2P and procurement, as well as enhancing our financial systems and future strategy are all available to the successful candidate to learn, influence and lead on these initiatives.
