An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and experienced qualified lawyer with extensive corporate experience to join the UK Office of General Counsel (OGC) team as a Senior Manager. You will provide comprehensive legal support in relation to a wide variety of corporate, finance and some general commercial matters as the opportunity arises. You will be required to work closely with colleagues across the UK Firm and the wider Deloitte network involving you in non-UK matters from time to time.
This role demands a strong understanding of UK corporate law and an appreciation of legal structures and the UK regulatory environment relevant to Professional Services.
This role will form part of the UK OGC team and report into the Deputy General Counsel. The role holder will act as a key point of contact for corporate and finance matters and some other general commercial matters. This will involve providing cross-functional and cross-Business Line support and require the role holder to play a co-ordination role on a range matters.

Provide expert legal advice on corporate and finance matters to the UK firm with a focus on managing legal and regulatory risk and providing high quality commercially focussed legal advice and practical solutions.
Lead on corporate transactional matters including acquisitions and disposals, to enable smooth management of complex matters with a continuous improvement mindset enhancing existing processes, modernising operations and optimising the use of technology where appropriate.
Support and advise the Finance team in relation to external financing.
Collaborate with Co Sec on corporate structuring.
Draft, review, negotiate, and finalise a diverse range of transaction and commercial contracts and related documents.
Confidently navigate the complexities of multi-disciplinary organisational structures.
Collaborate effectively with colleagues across different functions and business units in the UK (including Corporate Development, Finance and Treasury), fostering strong working relationships and contributing to a positive and inclusive environment.
Proactively identify and mitigate potential legal risks, providing practical and commercially sound solutions.
Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritising tasks effectively and meeting demanding deadlines. Demonstrate strong project management skills, including planning, execution, and reporting.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development.

Qualified solicitor (or equivalent) in England and Wales with a deep understanding of UK corporate law.
In-house experience (some Professional Services or equivalent large complex organisational experience) including corporate, finance and commercial experience.
Excellent interpersonal skills both written and verbal. Excellent legal drafting, negotiation, and presentation skills and ability to communicate clearly, influence and engage others.
Skilled in influencing senior leadership, quickly build credibility and act as a trusted advisor.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and address complex legal challenges effectively.

Finance and Legal
We provide financial management and accounting support that is aligned to each area of Deloitte's business as well as the leadership team. We prepare the statutory and regulatory reporting required for Deloitte LLP and several other areas, whilst our General Counsel provides legal advice to the Board, the Executive and the Managing Partners.
Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
