Assurance builds, maintains and develops confidence. Analytics and Data Science
High quality and transparent reporting on data use and compliance of data handling is critical for both regulatory compliance and for rebuilding the trust of the public. Our dedicated Analytics Group specialises in helping clients understand and effectively use their data. As a data science team we work seamlessly with the diverse data and analytics specialist teams to create solutions to internal and client projects in a fast-paced environment.

We are looking to expand our team by the hiring of focused, aspirational and collaborative practitioners, and as such we are offering the opportunity to join as a Data Science and Machine Learning Senior Manager to support this challenging and rapidly expanding business.
You'll be leading delivery and the team across a range of Financial Services analytics offerings, including:

• Developing and embedding of new and existing innovative Data Science solutions into Audit and Assurance practice, contributing to transformation into the Audit of the future
• Providing data analytics/data science services through the use of software such as Python/R, Azure, Databricks/other ML services, SQL, Tableau, Power BI to deliver meaningful insights to our clients and help them to understand the risks and key drivers for their business.
• Reviewing existing internal and third-party data science and cloud solutions.
• Helping the team to support our clients in all areas of large data handling, manipulation, analysis and modelling.
• Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognized for their contribution.

Essential

• End-to-end experience of leading and managing multiple data science and analytics projects in different industries and with different types of data (text, numerical, categorical).
• Experience of delivery AI/ML projects for large/complex organisations.
• Experience building relationship at a Senior level
• Experience in building Data Science initiatives
• Solid understanding of mathematics, probability and statistics.
• Deep knowledge in a range of AI/machine learning techniques/GenAI/Agentic AI.
• Strong communication and data presentation skills with the ability to build convincing recommendations and sell these to a non-technical audience.
• Strong problem solving skills, and capable of generating original solutions to real-world problems.
• Experience in reviewing code and documentation to a high standard.
• Experience in using cloud environment (e.g. Azure, AWS).
• Experience of working in a Dev/MLOps environment.
• Experience of exercising software engineering best practices, E.g, test-driven development, smart data structure and algorithm selection.
• Experience in using Python (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).
• Experienced in , Deep Learning (e.g. RNNs, CNNs) or NLP techniques (e.g. TF-IDF, word-embedding).
• Experience in developing and managing end-to-end GenAI/LLM based applications.
• Experience in working in an Agile development team.
• Experience in using Git, Excel, SQL.
• Self-driven, able to work independently yet acts as a team player; able to apply data science principles through a business lens.

Desirable (Ideally, you'll have experience of one or more of the below areas)

• Publishing and thought leadership in Data Science area
• Experience in Agentic AI
• Experience with ML/ GenAI/ Agentic AI Validation frameworks
• Experience in using Azure Databricks, Azure MLflow, Azure ML services and/or other ML services.
• Experience in front-end development.
• Experience in using Docker and Kubernetes.

Personal independence
Regulation and controls are standard practice in our industry and Deloitte is no exception. These controls provide important legal protection for both you and the firm. We are subject to a number of audit regulations, one of which requires that certain colleagues abide by specific personal independence constraints (e.g., in relation to any financial interests and employment relationships). This can mean that you and your "Immediate Family Members" are not permitted to hold certain financial interests (shares, funds, bonds etc.) with audit clients of the firm, and also prohibitions on certain employment relationships (e.g., you are not permitted to hold a secondary employment role with SEC audit clients of the firm whilst being employed by the firm).
