Working in a team with The Head of Development Finance - South (David Hales), transaction mangers and senior transaction managers, the Business Development Manager role will play a critical role in delivery. You will be joining our small but enthusiastic, friendly and talented team of four people, who are committed to making positive change in how new homes are delivered by SME developers in England.
David is dedicated to delivering a first-class customer service, resolving issues informally wherever possible, taking an innovative and creative approach to property transaction issues. His team believes in working in a collaborative and flexible way - in a team which values diversity in experience and perspective to foster good decision making and problem solving within their team.
This is a rare chance to shape the future of products and solutions for SME Developers in a fast growing, national organisation with real social purpose. Working with key stakeholders and a professional business development team you will ensure efficient, consistent and effective resolution of property development loans and have the opportunity to help create brighter futures for both developers and the end user/home occupiers.
The role will support the delivery of much need new homes, as a direct contribution toward the government's targets.
A bit about you...
--------------------
Whilst our day job is to deliver first class customer service to both our external and internal stakeholders, you will be used to "working on several development transactions" at once and will always be looking for ways to improve and innovate and speed up the drawdown/contracting process.
You will enjoy being out and about at external meetings, either on site with developers or specific introducers meetings and events and property seminars.
You'll be comfortable supporting borrowers with complex site or title issues, aiming to safely complete transactions for all parties. You will be proficient in negotiation and fully understand the land purchase process and development lending process. Including understanding appropriate security, pricing, loan term and interpreting valuations and Monitoring Surveyors reports - along with confident understanding of reviewing insurance policies and certificate of titles - all with background support from legal professionals and support from the wider teams in Homes England.
Delivering on a mission as bold as ours isn't always easy. You will be resilient and comfortable managing stakeholders at a senior level and your discussions will always be shaped by a good understanding of the commercial and operational impact of what we do as a delivery team. You will enjoy working in an innovative, fun and engaging way and be able to negotiate and persuade.
As an experienced specific property development professional, you'll understand how to manage colleagues and be able to demonstrate you can work with others as part of a team in a collaborative, inclusive way.
