The Role
To manage a team to deliver the global insurance premium tax (IPT) compliance process and IPT technical support for the Lloyd's Market.
The role has a focus on premium taxes in relation to the Lloyd's Market (Syndicates/Managing Agents) which has responsibility for proving high quality and timely technical support and guidance to the Market in relation to premium taxes, delivering 800+ premium tax returns (with a value of 0.75bn+) globally per year and working with the UK and overseas tax authorities to resolve audits and enquiries on the Market's behalf. This role holder is the key point of contact for the Lloyd's Market in relation to any premium tax issues.
Principal AccountabilitiesDelivering the premium tax compliance process on behalf of the Market for all 30+ countries in which Lloyd's is required to report and pay taxes, including settlement and collection of tax payments. Providing leadership and direction to the IPT team. Leading, developing and being accountable for the performance of the IPT team; Managing the relationship with HMRC in respect of UK IPT. Manage existing Lloyd's tax arrangements with various tax authorities globally and negotiate new arrangements for Lloyd's where required. Responsibility for maintaining accurate tax information and content on Crystal+ (Lloyd's database of tax information) Building and maintaining relationships with the Market as the key contact for premium taxes; Responsibility for all premium tax communications to the Market on Lloyds.com. Lead and manage special projects in relation to market premium tax issues (e.g. Brexit, German IPT law reform). Responsibility for ensuring Lloyd's meet its risk and governance requirements in relation to premium taxes (e.g. UK SAO requirements).

ExperienceSolid and broad grounding in UK indirect / premium taxes; An awareness of significant EU and non-EU issues; Experience of dealing with tax authorities.
