The Chief Survey Specialist directly impacts McDermott's results by developing innovative solutions and works with Senior Management, customers, regulators, and vendors to influence Survey (Mar) -related decisions. The Chief Survey Specialist is recognized as an expert within the company and supports teammates by sharing their technical expertise and discipline-related knowledge.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
Manage and guide to survey team across regions
Manage Survey sub-contract evaluations
Plan for survey team and roles across regions
Bid support on offshore and onshore survey
Monitor closely all ongoing survey operations
Coordinate and support project management and Operations
Identify project requirements for survey services
Monitor survey service orders
Review and approve survey invoices and timesheets
Identify and review the latest available technology as applicable
Oversee the quality control of survey-related scopes
Provide technical guidance and support to survey specialists
Represent McDermott in survey McDermott-related organizations, e.g., IMCA
Represent McDermott in critical survey-related issues with Clients
Monitor and manage survey equipment on McDermott's assets
Essential Qualifications and Education:
Bachelor's degree or higher in Surveying, Hydrography, Geomatics, Marine Sciences, or a related field
Extensive experience of >15 years in marine construction surveying within the EPCI industry, with a strong understanding of offshore construction projects, pipeline installations, and subsea infrastructure
Proven experience in leading and managing a team of surveyors, fostering a positive work environment, ensuring efficient resource allocation, and maintaining high standards of performance
Proficiency in using modern surveying methods, equipment, and software
In-depth knowledge of marine construction surveying techniques, including hydrographic surveys, land survey, geophysical surveys, geotechnical surveys, and subsea positioning methods
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, including those set by national maritime authorities, classification societies, and international surveying organizations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret survey data, perform quality control checks, and provide accurate recommendations and insights
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, clients, and stakeholders at various organizational levels
Proven track record of delivering high-quality surveying projects on time and within budget, including experience in project scoping, planning, and execution
Professional certifications in marine surveying, such as RICS Chartered Surveyor or similar, would be advantageous
