As a Manual, Automation, and Performance Tester, responsible for ensuring end-to-end quality across functional and non-functional areas of the application. This includes designing and executing manual test cases, developing robust and maintainable automated test scripts for regression and smoke testing, and conducting performance tests to assess system responsiveness and stability under load. Collaborates with developers, DevOps, and business stakeholders to identify test scenarios, validate requirements, monitor performance metrics, and optimize application behavior under varying user loads. Plays a key role in early defect detection, reducing time-to-release, and improving user experience through continuous feedback and test coverage.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
Here is a detailed list of Day-to-Day Responsibilities for a QA professional working across Manual, Automation, and Performance Testing:

• Test Planning & Preparation

• Understand requirements and user stories by collaborating with BAs, developers, and product owners.
• Review functional specifications and design documents to identify testable conditions.
• Create, review, and update test plans, test scenarios, and test cases.
• Manual Testing Activities

• Execute manual test cases for functional, integration, regression, and exploratory testing.
• Perform UI, API, and end-to-end testing of web/mobile applications.
• Log and track defects in tools like JIRA, ensuring detailed and reproducible bug reports.
• Retest resolved defects and verify fixes.
• Automation Testing Activities

• Design and implement automated test scripts using Selenium, TestNG, and Cucumber
• Maintain and enhance existing test automation frameworks
• Schedule and execute automated regression suites for each build or sprint
• API & Performance Testing

• Test REST APIs using Postman and Rest Assured for automation.
• Design and execute performance tests using Apache JMeter to evaluate system scalability.
• Analyze performance metrics (response time, throughput, error rate) and report bottlenecks.
• Collaboration & Agile Ceremonies

• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and backlog grooming.
• Collaborate with developers to resolve bugs and clarify test data or environment setup.
• Provide daily or weekly test progress updates and contribute to sprint reviews.
• Test Data & Environment Management

• Prepare and manage test data for various test cycles.
• Coordinate with DevOps or environment teams to ensure test environments are stable and ready.
• Validate deployment in QA/staging environments before sign-off
• Documentation & Reporting

• Document test results, issues, and improvements for transparency
• Prepare test summary reports and share metrics like test coverage, pass/fail rates, and defect trends
• Maintain QA artifacts in Confluence, SharePoint, or other document repositories

• Must either be NPPV Level 3 cleared or SC cleared. If SC cleared, must be willing to go through the NPPV3 process
