About the Role
We are seeking an experienced
Senior Material Testing Technician
to lead and perform advanced testing of
asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soil
materials. This position plays a key role in ensuring the quality, integrity, and compliance of construction materials used across our projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards in both laboratory and field environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and oversee
laboratory and field testing
on asphalt, concrete, aggregates, and soils following
ASTM, AASHTO, and local specifications
.
Lead and mentor junior technicians, providing guidance on testing procedures, equipment use, and data reporting.
Review and verify test results for accuracy and compliance with quality standards.
Conduct
sampling, specimen preparation, and mix evaluations
as required.
Maintain calibration and operational readiness of all testing equipment.
Prepare and submit detailed
technical reports
to project managers and engineers.
Ensure full compliance with
safety procedures
and laboratory quality management systems.
Coordinate field sampling and testing at construction sites as needed.
Qualifications
Required:
High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in
civil engineering technology, construction materials, or geotechnical studies
preferred.
5+ years of experience
in materials testing, including asphalt, concrete, and soil.
Proficiency in ASTM and AASHTO testing methods and reporting standards.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Valid driver's license and ability to travel to project or job sites.
Must hold CSCS card
Preferred:
Certifications such as:
ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician - Grade I
NICET Level II or III in Construction Materials Testing
WAQTC, TTQP, or equivalent certifications
Experience operating and maintaining equipment such as nuclear density gauges, compression machines, sieves, and ovens.
Working knowledge of
QA/QC documentation systems
and
data management software
.

Pay: 42,000.00-49,000.00 per year
