Job Description
Our long-standing client requires Senior Design Mechanical Engineer to join their team in the Gainsborough area. The client is a business that specializes in the design and build of flexible automation solutions and its use of robotics.
The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be working in a small project team that will primarily focus on designing robotic packaging systems. They will be self-motivated and creative and able to guide engineers and lead them in the design process from concept to production making sure the technical requirements of the project are met.
Responsibilities
Understand the scope of the project and the technical requirements
Be able to communicate with all levels of personnel
Able to manage schedules and budgets on multiple projects simultaneously
Design robot cells, end of arm tooling, conveyors and feeders
To carry out sizing calculations
Create detailed assembly drawings of equipment such as robot frames, conveyors, feed systems
Skills and Knowledge
Proficient in 3D parametric modeling software and 2D CAD.
Familiar with BS308 drafting standards
Confident with mechanisms, pneumatic systems, electric motors and structural design.
Familiar with Robet cell design.
Done the fabrication and machining process to make bespoke pieces.
Qualifications
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or gone through an apprenticeship in the Engineering industry
At least 8 years' experience in a mechanical design role in a similar industry.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 45,000.00-50,000.00 per year
Schedule:
Day shift Monday to Friday
