The Commercial & Estimating department is central to ensuring the financial viability and contractual success of our projects. Responsible for cost management, procurement, valuations, and contract administration, the team works closely with project managers, quantity surveyors, and clients to monitor budgets, mitigate risk, and maximise value throughout the project lifecycle. Their expertise ensures projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with contractual obligations -- safeguarding both client satisfaction and company profitability.
Role Overview
Reporting to the Lead Estimator you will be an essential part of the Commercial Team responsible for assisting in the preparation of accurate costings for data centre projects. Day-to-day estimating will include costing of a wide range of commercial and industrial applications, from bespoke plantrooms, risers, laterals & prefabricated solutions. Be responsible for generating detailed mechanical takeoffs for turnkey commercial projects which will involve liaising with a wide range of suppliers to obtain accurate quotations for specialist equipment. Liaise with our contract managers, purchasing department & wider commercial department in order to generate a seamless link from initial costing through to design, installation and completion for each project.

What You'll be Doing
Responsible for reviewing tender and enquiry documents to support bid/no-bid decisions. Tasks include interpreting schematics and 3D designs, completing mechanical take-offs, and compiling material and labour cost estimates. Uses estimating software to input and review data, collaborates with the commercial team to assess labour needs, and sources quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. Attends site and internal meetings pre- and post-contract to support project delivery and prepare detailed handover packs for awarded projects.
