2gether Support Solutions is a Facilities and Estates services company providing support to healthcare professionals caring for over 2000 patients daily across multiple East Kent hospital sites. 2gether provides vital services including maintenance, cleaning, catering, procurement, logistics and much more.


Are you an experienced and motivated engineering professional looking to make a direct impact on patient safety and care? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical Engineering Technician to join our dynamic and dedicated team.


You'll play a vital role in ensuring the performance, safety, and reliability of a diverse range of medical equipment, from diagnostic to therapeutic and point of care testing devices - used across hospitals and in the community.

Based at the Kent and Canterbury Hospital this is full time permanent position working Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm + on call.



About the Role




In this varied and technically challenging role, you will:

Maintain, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair complex medical equipment to the highest safety standards. Provide applications support, acceptance testing, and commissioning for new devices. Liaise closely with clinical staff, patients, and manufacturers to ensure safe and effective equipment use. Deliver on site and off site services, including community settings. Support the development and training of junior technicians. Participate in the out of hours emergency on-call rota. You'll also occasionally deputise for the Site Manager, taking the lead on service delivery and professional standards.

What We're Looking For



Essential qualifications and experience:



BEng/BSc in Engineering or Physical Sciences, or equivalent. Significant hands on experience with complex medical devices. Strong knowledge of engineering principles, medical device safety, and MHRA guidelines. Advanced fault finding, calibration, and diagnostic skills (electronic and mechanical). Excellent IT skills including MS Office and database use. Full UK driving licence and own transport.

Desirable:



Membership of the Register of Clinical Technologists. Eligible for Incorporated Membership of IPEM and IEng. Qualification in anatomy and physiology. We're looking for someone who's a confident communicator, a problem-solver under pressure, and a natural team player with a flexible and proactive approach.
