About this job:

The Astellas UK Medical Affairs team have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Medical Scientific Liaison (MSL) to support the launch of new products within Oncology for gastric cancer and Leukaemia.

You will act as a role model within the team in terms of core MSL skills, capabilities and scientific expertise. Supporting the development of the strategic and tactical plans for engagement with the medical/scientific community, facilitating and gathering insights, disseminating new data and act as expert to medical/scientific learning solutions.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:

• Proactively identifying unmet needs to deepen Astellas\' understanding of the customer needs (patients, consumers, regulators, payers etc).
• Contributing to the strengthening of Astellas\' key medical messages, and future plans for development, building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• You will identify and critically assesses research opportunities and plays a supportive role in the execution of evidence generation plans.
• Support and lead by example, excellence in execution of all governance processes thus demonstrating understanding of operations.
• Act as technical expert for therapeutic and product training for MSLs teams to ensure that MSLs have robust up-to-date scientific knowledge, as well as identify and engage with investigators recommending sites for Medical Affairs and/or Development sponsored studies.

Essential Knowledge & Experience:

• Solid experience as an MSL, within the Therapy Area\'s of Oncology/Haematology/Leukaemia or gastric cancer
• Experience and proven expertise of reimbursement launch and KOL management within the Therapy Area.
• Exceptional medical and pharmacological knowledge in the main indication.
• Detailed knowledge of health care structures and processes in the hospitals.
• Sound knowledge of health politics

Educations/Qualifications:

• Master\'s degree in a health-related science or equivalent
• PhD (preferred but not essential)
• Location: Field based, open to any location in the UK
