Senior Mental Health Support Worker (Days)

Location:

Fernside House, Armley, Leeds

Hours:

39.37 hours per week

Salary:

28,354.27 / 13.85 per hour + 15.35 overtime + On-Call paid 35 pw

Shift Pattern:

7:30am - 8:00pm, two-week rolling rota


Week 1: Mon, Tue, Sat, Sun Week 2: Wed, Thu, Fri

, in Armley, Leeds. Fernside House will provide a safe and supportive home for men with enduring mental health needs, and we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to person-centred, recovery-focused care. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing consistent, high-quality care while also supporting and guiding colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and supervise Recovery Support Workers in assisting residents with daily living tasks to promote independence. Provide personal care and ensure high-quality care delivery in line with evidence-based practices. Act as a role model and take responsibility for the unit in the absence of management. Mentor new staff and participate in ongoing staff development through supervision and training. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, ensuring the well-being of service users is at the forefront of care. Facilitate recovery-focused activities and support residents in achieving their personal goals. Handle medication and maintain accurate care records in compliance with company policies and legal requirements.

Requirements:

Experience working with individuals with mental health issues. A strong understanding of care plans and risk assessments. Excellent communication and leadership skills. A commitment to promoting recovery and social inclusion.
