Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team in providing high-quality care to residents in our care home. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting the elderly, ensuring their comfort and well-being while promoting independence. This role requires strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to deliver personalised care plans.

Duties

Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members. Supervise junior staff and provide guidance to ensure the highest standards of care are maintained. Maintain accurate records of residents' progress and any changes in their health status. Foster a warm and friendly environment that encourages social interaction among residents. Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to address concerns and provide updates on care. Participate in training sessions and continuous professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in senior care.

Skills

Proven experience in a care home setting, specifically within senior care. Strong supervisory experience with the ability to lead a team effectively. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with residents, families, and colleagues. Proficiency in IT systems for documenting care plans and maintaining records. A valid driving licence is preferred to assist with transportation needs of residents when required. A compassionate nature with a strong commitment to enhancing the quality of life for seniors.
