Competitive Salary, based St Ives
OV Group is a leading medium-sized food ingredients company dedicated to providing high-quality, predominantly sweet ingredients to food manufacturers worldwide. We specialize in producing, sourcing and distributing a wide range of food ingredients that meet the evolving needs of our leading food manufacturing customers. With a commitment to excellence and innovation, we operate across multiple locations in the UK, Sweden, Switzerland, and Germany.
We are now seeking an experienced Senior NPD Technologist to join our team and contribute to the development and delivery of new product development (NPD) projects for OVUK. This role is crucial for driving business growth and success by creating innovative product concepts and ensuring their successful implementation and launch.
Your key responsibilities will be to develop concepts in response to customer briefs, overseeing product launches from concept approval, coordinating factory trials and pre-production activities, through to market release, ensuring adherence to NPD procedures and customer gate processes along the way.
Additionally, you will be tasked with proactively identifying opportunities to maximise the range of product offerings that our St Ives site is able to deliver, especially around fudge, hollow mould chocolate products and solid chocolate decorations.
You'll be collaborating closely with the commercial teams, manufacturing site leads, customers, procurement and suppliers, establishing strong cross-functional working relationships to manage the seamless transition of products from development to full-scale production whilst ensuring compliance with quality standards and budgetary guidelines.
To be successful, you'll have previous experience and proven capability within a product development role in food manufacturing; demonstrable experience managing the development cycle from concept to launch; good commercial acumen and understanding of production environments.
Degree qualified in a food science/technology related discipline, you will have strong initiative and excellent organisational and project management skills. A self-starter and confident communicator and relationship builder, you'll also be a passionate foodie with an enhanced awareness of the latest food trends and innovations.
