Job Overview

The Senior Room Attendant plays a crucial role in ensuring a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment for children. This position involves overseeing the daily activities within the nursery and providing leadership to junior staff members. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education, excellent communication skills, and a passion for working with children.

Responsibilities

Manage the daily operations of the nursery room, ensuring all activities are conducted in a safe and stimulating environment. Lead and support junior staff in their roles, providing guidance and mentorship as needed. Develop and implement age-appropriate educational activities that promote children's learning and development. Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their children's progress and any concerns that may arise. Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery space, adhering to health and safety regulations. Observe and assess children's behaviour and development, documenting progress as required. Collaborate with other staff members to create a cohesive team atmosphere focused on the well-being of all children.

Skills

Strong leadership abilities to effectively manage a team of childcare professionals. Background in early childhood education or relevant experience in childcare settings. Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written, to engage with children, parents, and colleagues. Ability to drive initiatives that enhance children's learning experiences within the nursery. Experience working with children in various capacities, demonstrating patience, empathy, and understanding. Knowledge of best practices in childcare and early childhood education principles.
