to join our nursery in SE5. The Senior Practitioner will support the room leader in delivering high-quality care and education, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the smooth running of daily activities.
This role is ideal for a confident, proactive, and child-focused professional who can inspire a team and enhance children's development.
Key Responsibilities
Support the room leader in planning and delivering activities aligned with the EYFS framework
Lead small groups or key children, observing and assessing their progress
Mentor and support junior staff and apprentices in their development
Maintain a safe, stimulating, and welcoming environment for children
Build strong relationships with parents and carers
Assist in safeguarding, health, and safety compliance
Contribute to the overall smooth operation of the nursery
Required Qualifications & Skills
Level 3 Early Years or Childcare qualification
(NVQ, CACHE, BTEC, or equivalent)
Previous nursery experience working with children aged 0-5
Strong understanding of EYFS and child development
Excellent communication, organisation, and teamwork skills
Leadership or supervisory experience is an advantage
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
