We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Nursery Practitioner to join our vibrant childcare team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality early childhood education and care, supporting children's development in a safe and nurturing environment. Responsibilities
Lead and supervise a team of nursery practitioners, ensuring the smooth daily operation of the nursery.
Plan, organise, and implement age-appropriate educational activities that stimulate children's development across all areas.
Monitor and assess individual progress, maintaining detailed records in accordance with regulatory standards.
Foster a warm, inclusive environment that encourages children's curiosity, independence, and social skills.
Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding children's progress, behaviour, and any concerns.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times, conducting risk assessments as necessary.
Support the professional development of team members through mentoring and training sessions.
Manage administrative tasks related to staffing, scheduling, and resource organisation.
Drive organisational initiatives to enhance nursery standards and parent satisfaction.
Skills
Proven management and leadership experience within a nursery or early childhood education setting.
Extensive experience working with children, demonstrating a strong understanding of child development principles.
Knowledge of childcare regulations, safeguarding procedures, and early years curriculum frameworks.
Excellent communication skills in English, capable of liaising effectively with children, parents, and colleagues.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently in a busy environment.
Childcare qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent are essential; further qualifications in early childhood education are desirable.
