We are currently looking for a passionate, experienced Senior Practitioner to join our amazing setting on a full time basis!
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Senior Practitioner to work within our growing team, someone who is highly motivated, experienced and who has a genuine interest in filling such a position.
As a Senior Practitioner your role will be to provide a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children attending the setting. You will also be required to provide support to your fellow team members and management whilst implementing the daily routine of the room in which you are based. You will be expected to lead your room and team. The organisation and smooth running will become your responsibility as well as supporting management.
Your main responsibilities will be to:
Work with the children attending Footprints Day Nursery,
Work well within your team;
Support in leading a team to ensure smooth running
Liaise with parents and carers.
Work closely with Management and attend senior meetings
Reports to: Nursery management team
Job purpose:
To follow the EYFS when caring for our children.
To operate a programme of experiences and activities suitable for the age and range of children in your room in conjunction with other staff.
To understand and promote the ethos of the company and uphold the highest standards of childcare.
To observe and understand the rules of confidentiality.
To actively promote and support the safeguarding of children and young people within the setting, ensuring the nurseries policies and procedures are observed at all times.
To keep a learning journey for all of your key children, compiled with photographs and observations to demonstrate what happens in nursery and why we offer the activities and experiences that we do.
To build positive relationships with children, families and internal/external professionals demonstrating positive behaviour and expectations.
To support staff and engage in a good staff team.
To be involved in out of work activities, e.g. training, monthly staff meetings, fundraising events.
To be flexible within working practices of the setting, be prepared to help where needed including to undertake certain domestic jobs for example preparation of snacks and meals alongside the cleansing of equipment.
Carry out on-going cleaning of the nursery, toys and equipment.
To learn, understand and implement the Footprints Day Nursery policies and procedures within the nursery.
To support and promote diversity and equality.
To record accidents and incidents, ensuring the manager has confirmed knowledge of this before the parent/carer receives it.
To look upon the setting as a "whole" be aware of other rooms needs and be constantly aware of all children's needs.
To ensure each child is collected by someone known to the setting.
To ensure mealtimes is a time of pleasant social sharing.
To provide warmth and comfort if a child becomes ill.
To ensure the setting is a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development.
To promote the nursery to current and potential parents, ensuring we stand out at all times.
To be punctual and follow the nurseries correct uniform at all times adhering to the staff book rules.
To ensure staff and organisational skills are to a high standard within your room
Work closely with management and attend senior meetings
Drive own development through active participation in progress reviews, appraisals, one to ones and requesting supervisions when required.
The desired candidate MUST hold a minimum of a full and relevant level 3 qualification; previous experience of being a key person and it would also be desired if the candidate had previous experience as a Senior Nursery Practitioner.
