We are looking to employ a committed and enthusiastic nursery practitioner to join our team as a room leader, to contribute to a high standard of care for the children in the setting.
The room leader's primary role is to act as lead and take ownership of a particular room and support the manager to oversee other rooms and shared areas. A firm understanding of the nursery is essential to ensure they can support the management team in delivering a quality service.
We are looking for someone with extensive knowledge of the EYFS who can implement this around the nursery with the children. The right candidate will also be able to interact well with parents and maintain parent partnerships and also work well within a staff team and lead the staff team within their room.
Applicants must hold an NVQ level 3 or above in childcare and education and relevant experience within the sector. Applicants also need to be able to work between 7.30am and 6pm and be able to attend staff meetings and training courses.
Applicants must have a good knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety and first aid training is beneficial.

Provide a stimulating happy environment through play and other activities in which all children can interact and develop fully, emotionally and physically.
Ensure their room and other shared areas offer an attractive and welcoming environment.
Activities must be relevant to the age of the child/children and aim to meet individual needs.
To be responsible for the planning of and oversee the planning of, the Early Years Foundation Stage to ensure variety and diversity which maintains children's interests and ensures development of the children.
To be responsible for the overseeing of all systems put in place for observations and record keeping so that children's progress and development are effectively recorded and assessed.
Identify and assist any child with specific learning difficulties or disabilities.
Implement and supervise meals, rest periods, toilet and washing routines.
Promote high standards of cleanliness and hygiene at all times throughout their room and shared areas.
Devise a room timetable implementing all key areas of the curriculum.
Ensure safeguarding is at the forefront and any concerns reported immediately to the manager/deputy manager.
