We are seeking an experienced
Senior Occupational Therapist (OT)
to lead and grow our dedicated OT provision within a specialist SEND primary setting. You'll manage a small team, deliver impactful interventions, and embed occupational therapy strategies into the daily fabric of the classroom--supporting pupils with autism, sensory processing needs, emotional regulation, and complex learning profiles.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise, and train the in-house OT team (OT + OTA)
Deliver specialist assessments (motor, sensory, functional) and write detailed reports
Plan and oversee therapy based on EHCP needs and provision maps
Guide staff in embedding OT strategies into classroom routines (universal + targeted interventions)
Liaise with class teams, SLT, families, and external professionals
Provide high-quality Direct Class Support (DCS) and modelling
Monitor progress and evaluate therapy outcomes regularly
Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to whole-school training
Requirements
Recognised OT degree/diploma +
HCPC registration
(Essential)
Member of
RCOT
Advanced Sensory Integration (ASI)
training preferred
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
Strong background in autism, sensory needs, and early child development
Confident in formal/informal assessment, report writing, and delivering training
Collaborative mindset, emotional resilience, creative approach
Strong ICT, communication, and organisational skills
