As an Adult Care Services occupational therapist, you will hold your own caseload and work in partnership with people living in the community across Hertfordshire. You will undertake a holistic assessment of need to identify person-centred outcomes.

We work collaboratively alongside social care colleagues, as well as with our health partners, housing and care providers, and a range of community support services.

About the role
We aim to enable people to make positive decisions in their lives, promote their independence and ensure they can get involved in their local community. We're a service motivated by and dedicated to social care intervention and community social work.
We're looking for a senior occupational therapist who can engage with people, promoting and enabling inclusive community options, as well as self-directed purchased services.
This is a fast-paced environment. Our locality teams focus on complex cases and include general assessments and care planning. You'll support with:
Completing care needs assessment
Developing innovative support plans
Building networks
Raising awareness in the area and developing valuable links for the team
You'll work alongside community care officers, community learning disability nurses and occupational therapists to achieve the best outcomes for the people you work with.
About you
A recognised occupational therapy qualification and be registered with The Health and Care Professions Council
To ensure practice is consistent with The Royal College of Occupational Therapists' Professional standards for occupational therapy practice, conduct and ethics, and the HCPC Standards of Proficiency for Occupational therapy
Knowledge and experience of relevant social care legislation, such as the Care Act 2014, Mental Capacity Act 2005
To be a confident team member with good decision-making skills
The ability to work successfully with partners and other agencies
A full UK driving licence and regular access to a vehicle for work purposes
Requirements for the senior role include actively undertaking a specialist role e.g. Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP), Best Interests Assessor (BIA), occupational therapy practice educator, or moving and handling specialist function role.
Alternatively, an agreement to undertake at least one of these roles within the first year.
