Job Description

We are looking for a committed and capable Senior Operations Care Coordinator to help run the day-to-day operations of our home care service, which delivers a mix of complex clinical care and traditional domiciliary care to adults living in the community.

This role is ideal for someone who is currently a Senior Care Coordinator, or a care Manager who would prefer to focus on operations without holding the CQC registration.

You'll work closely with the other care coordinators, field supervisors and Registered Manager to ensure smooth, safe, and high-quality care delivery. In our small, friendly team, flexibility is key--you'll be expected to facilitate all aspects of the day to day business, whether that's helping with rotas, supporting assessments, solving carer and client issues, or supervising staff.

Key Responsibilities



Supporting Day-to-Day Operations

Help oversee the delivery of care packages--both complex and non-complex--ensuring quality, consistency, and responsiveness in line with CQC's five key questions on providing a Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-led service. Support rotas, scheduling, and assessments. Overseeing medication-related responsibilities, including regular auditing and ensuring carers' always administer medication safely and in line with their training. You'll help reinforce best practice, provide updates on company policy, and support staff to remain confident and compliant in their duties. Dealing with all stages of safeguarding enquiries. Act as a key point of contact for care staff, clients, families, and health professionals. Recruiting and Line managing our amazing Carers--who we truly can't do without. Your role will be to support, guide and energise them so they can continue delivering outstanding care. Building strong, positive relationships with new clients from the outset--ensuring our team represents the company professionally at all times, responds promptly to client feedback, and follows company policies to deliver a consistently high standard of care Willing to cover care calls in exceptional circumstances when needed, to ensure continuity of care. Be able to work efficiently in a high paced environment. Have the ability to cope under pressure towards a deadline. Training/ Induction of carers (as required).

Team Support & Supervision



Support staff recruitment, inductions, and ongoing supervision. Monitor staff competencies, especially for those delivering more complex care tasks. Help build a positive, supportive working environment where communication is open and respectful.

Quality & Compliance



Assist with quality assurance tasks including spot checks, audits, care reviews, and documentation checks--while ensuring policies remain up to date, staff are informed of any changes, and best practice guidance is monitored and shared with the Registered Manager. Support the Registered Manager to ensure the service remains compliant with CQC regulations and local safeguarding processes. Be proactive in identifying and resolving day-to-day service issues.

Client & Family Liaison



Help maintain positive relationships with clients and families through regular communication and feedback. Conduct client assessments, reviews, and care planning as needed. Respond to concerns or complaints in a professional, calm and person-centred manner.

What We're Looking For



Someone with strong operational experience in a home care setting--ideally as a Senior Care Coordinator or Care Manager. A confident communicator who is highly organised, proactive, calm under pressure, and solutions-focused--with the ability to think quickly and clearly in fast-moving situations. A detail-oriented problem solver who brings ideas to the table and can adapt to different personalities and working styles when managing and supporting others. Someone comfortable supporting both complex care packages (e.g. tracheostomy, PEG, brain injury) and more traditional home care. A team player who thrives in a small, dynamic office environment. A caring, dependable, and resilient team member who puts quality and people first. Ability to participate in the out-of-hours (on-call) rota.

Essential Requirements



Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care (or working towards). Prior experience in a supervisory or management role in domiciliary and/ or complex care. Experience with rota coordination, care planning, and quality monitoring/ CQC compliance. Good written English and confidence using email, Microsoft Word and Excel. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. In-depth understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards and KLOEs. Previous CQC registration or experience supporting inspections. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of local authority commissioning and funding arrangements Data-driven approach to monitoring quality and performance.

Desirable



Experience supporting complex care services (e.g. delegated clinical tasks, CHC-funded packages). Knowledge of both clinical and personal care services, including complex needs such as tracheostomy, PEG, or acquired brain injury Train-the-trainer or mentorship qualifications and ability to deliver or support internal training. Familiarity with electronic MAR charts and delegated healthcare tasks. Understanding of strength-based and person-centred care models. Familiarity with digital care systems (e.g. Nourish, CarePlanner) Additional care qualifications or CPD in complex care topics. Resident in South East London. Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
