We're looking for an experienced

Senior Packaging Designer

to join our London design team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and technically skilled professional to lead projects, mentor junior designers, and drive innovation in food packaging.

About the Role



As a Senior Packaging Designer, you will take ownership of structural and graphic design projects from concept to production. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams, manage client expectations, and ensure that every design meets performance, sustainability, and brand objectives.

Key Responsibilities



Lead Design Projects:

Develop innovative packaging concepts that balance functionality, sustainability, and visual impact.

Structural Engineering:

Create complex dyelines and prototypes using CAD software and advanced paper engineering techniques.

Material & Performance Testing:

Oversee testing for shelf life, barrier properties, transport durability, and heat resistance.

Client Engagement:

Present concepts and solutions to clients, ensuring alignment with brand and technical requirements.

Mentorship:

Guide and support junior designers, fostering creativity and technical excellence.

Artwork Development:

Prepare and refine print-ready artwork across multiple substrates and formats.

Sustainability Leadership:

Champion eco-friendly materials and processes in all design solutions.

What We're Looking For



Degree or diploma in Packaging Design, Industrial Design, or related field. Minimum

5+ years of experience

in packaging design, ideally within food or FMCG sectors. Advanced proficiency in

ArtiosCAD

, CAD systems, and

Adobe Creative Suite

(Illustrator, Photoshop). Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials science, and sustainability principles. Excellent communication, project management, and client-facing skills. Ability to balance creativity with technical and commercial considerations.

Location:

London, UK - occasional travel to manufacturing sites in the UK and Ireland. The role can offer hybrid working following the initial probation period.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 17.00-22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week

Work Location: In person
