Key Duties & Responsibilities
Prepare, file, and organise
legal documents, pleadings, witness statements
, and
disclosure materials
in line with court protocols.
Manage and maintain
case files
using
LEAP
, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and accessibility of documentation across all stages.
Conduct detailed
legal research
on civil procedure, case law, and specific legal issues related to
debt recovery
,
contractual disputes
, and
commercial lease disagreements
.
Draft correspondence, pre-action letters, instructions to counsel, and reports with a high level of accuracy using
Microsoft Office
tools and integrated legal software.
Liaise with
clients, courts, counsel, witnesses
, and external agencies to progress matters efficiently and in line with litigation timelines.
Provide administrative and strategic support in
money claims
, including drafting
Part 7 or Part 8 claim forms
,
particulars of claim
, and enforcement documentation.
Assist in preparing for
court hearings
,
case management conferences
, and
settlement discussions
, including preparation of court bundles and exhibits.
Monitor and track key
court deadlines
, ensuring compliance through efficient
task management
and use of legal calendaring systems.
Utilise and adapt to new technologies and tools that improve efficiency, compliance, and document handling in a legal context.
Support the team in ensuring all activities are aligned with
regulatory standards
, including GDPR and data handling compliance.
Key Skills & Experience
Demonstrable experience working as a
Litigation Paralegal
in a
disputes
-focused environment, ideally within a firm handling
civil
and
commercial litigation
.
Solid understanding of
debt recovery procedures
, including pre-action protocols, court claims, and enforcement options.
Experience dealing with
commercial lease disputes
, including forfeiture, dilapidations, and possession claims.
Proficient in
LEAP case management software
and confident using digital legal tools for document management and workflow automation.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with clients, counsel, and court officials.
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, especially when managing multiple cases and deadlines concurrently.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office Suite
, particularly
Word, Outlook, and Excel
, for legal drafting and communication.
High level of
IT literacy
and the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new systems and legal technologies.
Familiarity with civil litigation procedures and court forms under the
Civil Procedure Rules (CPR)
