We are seeking a full-time Senior Payroll Administrator to join our payroll team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Payroll Administrator or for someone ready to take the next step in their career. The Senior Payroll Administrator will be one of six seniors who will be supporting the Payroll Operations Manager and the Payroll Director whilst processing some of the more complicated payroll whilst providing first-class support to our clients.

The Team



You will join a payroll team of 12 responsible for processing payrolls for around 500 clients with sizes ranging from two or three staff to several hundred employees. The team are also responsible for processing a range of weekly, four weekly and monthly payrolls whilst providing a high standard of service to our clients.

As a Senior Payroll Administrator at Henderson Loggie, your responsibilities will include:



Process and oversee complex client payrolls accurately and on time, handling a variety of pay frequencies and requirements. Work to strict deadlines, sometimes under with short notice. Supervise daily payroll bureau operations to guarantee efficient, error-free service delivery. Act as a first point of contact for clients, dealing with payroll queries promptly and professionally. Support, mentor, and guide junior team members, sharing knowledge and helping them develop their skills. Liaise with outside agencies (HMRC/Pensions/Auditors etc) Carry out various large or complex monthly, quarterly and annual payroll reconciliations Perform the payroll year end procedures Take ownership of problems as they arise, assessing them and where necessary seeing them through to a satisfactory conclusion. Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, and data security standards. Assist the Payroll Operations Managers with workload planning, resource allocation, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes and introduce automation. Contribute to continuous improvement, identifying ways to make payroll processes more efficient and accurate.

Previous experience of working within a payroll department and ideally within a Payroll Bureau Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written with a high level of attention to detail A high level of numeracy and accuracy Good telephone and customer service skills Computer literate and able to use MS office packages Ability to work to strict deadlines and achieve a high level of accuracy Previous experience of coaching junior colleagues would be beneficial Knowledge of current payroll legislation
