Location: Edinburgh or Peterborough (We believe in the power of in-person collaboration, and our hybrid model requires colleagues to be in the office a minimum of 40% of their time)
Salary: A competitive salary from 46,960 - 60,000 depending on the experience you can bring

We're looking for an experienced pensions professional who brings deep technical expertise and a strong understanding of UK pensions legislation and regulation. You'll have a proven background in a technical pension role and the ability to interpret complex information with clarity and precision.
You'll be confident providing guidance to a wide range of stakeholders, including senior leaders and external advisers and skilled at translating technical detail into practical, actionable insight.
You'll take ownership of your work, apply sound judgement and be motivated by the opportunity to deliver high-quality outcomes that support both our business goals and the needs of our customers.
Key Responsibilities include:Track government consultations, legislation and industry updates to assess impacts on Aegon's pension products. Lead analysis of complex regulatory changes and communicate implications across the business. Create and maintain accurate, accessible technical materials for internal and external audiences. Ensure compliance with pensions legislation across all Aegon pension products and communications. Review and approve technical content in marketing and product materials. Provide expert input on regulatory and strategic projects. Lead technical workstreams, ensure compliance and support incident resolution with legal and technical insight. Respond to complex technical queries from advisers and internal teams. Collaborate with the Legal teams on challenging cases. Mentor colleagues and share technical knowledge via training sessions and online learning. Maintain up-to-date technical expertise. Support team development through mentoring and knowledge sharing. Support the line manager to manage the team workload and allocate work tasks.

We'd love to hear from you if you have:Significant experience working within a pension's environment, particularly in a technical capacity. Comprehensive understanding of the UK financial services sector and its regulatory authorities. A deep and up to date understanding of the pensions industry, including UK pensions legislation, regulation and guidance. Proven experience handling complex customer enquiries, with the ability to provide detailed, accurate responses, practical solutions and clear technical guidance. Ability to influence business decisions by responding to technical queries using HMRC, DWP, and TPR guidance. Proficient in planning, prioritising and organising tasks to adapt to the dynamic needs of the business, effectively managing multiple responsibilities. Skilled in proposing innovative ideas and improving workflows by leveraging new technology or software. Can take charge of initiatives and drive significant transformations.
