The 18+ Care Leavers service is a growing service that provides support to the Local Authorities Care Leavers. Kent County Council is a large authority and so this service is based at two sites at either end of the county, at Thistley Worrall House in West Malling.The 18+ Care Leavers Service requires a Senior Personal Adviser to support one of the twelve teams working across the service.The Senior Personal Adviser will hold a caseload of Care Leavers who may have multiple or complex needs within the 18+ Care Leaver service adopting a multi-agency approach.The Senior Personal Adviser will support the development of Personal Advisers within their team and service, whilst also supporting the Team Manager in ensuring the delivery of support for Care Leavers.The role will require the post holder to provide assistance, advice and support to vulnerable and challenging Care Leavers to encourage them to actively participate and contribute to their Pathway Planning process to enable them to move successfully into independent living. Assist with the management of our county duty service and the development of our drop in service.Our care leavers come from a diverse range of backgrounds, so you'll need to be flexible with your time and imaginative in your approach to help them achieve the best possible outcomes. You'll need to be very organised and capable of balancing priorities, including the need to carefully record your work and provide good planning which reflects the aspirations of the young people you'll be supporting. You'll need to build close working relationships with colleagues in other agencies as part of a wider network and advocate on their behalf to ensure their needs are met. The Service was rated as xe2x80x9cGoodxe2x80x9d at its last Ofsted inspection and is striving to be xe2x80x9cOutstandingxe2x80x9d.You will be well supported with regular 1:1 supervision, Team practice and reflections meetings and colleagues who are passionate about what they do.The ability to travel across a wide geographical area in a timely and flexible manner at various times of the day is essential.This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
