An NVQ
Level 3
in Childcare or Play work.
A full, clean driving license is necessary.
Experience working with children, in wrap around care or Early Years settings.

Cambridge Kids Club is an

Responsible for:
2 settings within different schools and their team of playworkers and leaders.
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the play leaders and/or deputy play leaders to ensure the smooth running of all breakfast, afterschool and holiday clubs
Lead sessions in the absence of any play leaders
To be responsible for the care of all children and to make sure that the social, emotional, physical and intellectual development needs of children are met, through play
Mentor and support staff and play leaders within own clubs
To report any concerns or problems to senior management or outside organisations where necessary
To guide and help the play leader to initiate ideas in accordance with best practice
To make sure that the club routine is followed, along with CKC's Policies & Procedures and Working Manuals
To monitor and evaluate changes, including regular club observations and reflections
To promote the consultation of children within the setting in line with Art.12 of the UNCRC
To be available for parents to talk to (at least weekly) and oversee new children's settling in period, ensuring all lines of communication are strong
To make sure that all accident, incidents and concerns are followed up and reported where necessary
To be responsible for monthly budgets to be used for planning and resourcing of activities and food shopping. Checking that playleaders are using the budgets correctly and efficiently and checking regularly that playleaders have suitable menus and activity plans in place
To ensure that all club admin is in place and being used correctly by playleaders and the team, including but not limited to things like children's registers, health and safety risk assessments and making sure all paperwork for Ofsted is on site and up to date
To hold meetings and attend all staff meetings
To assess prospective employees within their trial sessions and ensure new employees are correctly inducted
To take part in appraisal and supervisions for all staff and play leaders
Hours of work:
Approximately 25 hours a week (usually 7:30 - 9:00 & 15:00 - 18:00 in term time, with the potential of a few admin hours in between). During school holidays, we can offer up to 40 hours in the holiday play schemes, which are open from 8:00 - 18:00.
