About the role Total Politics Group is looking for an experienced Senior Political Campaign Manager to help our clients deliver their messages to political audiences through our market-leading collection of media brands and events. Working across a portfolio of clients, ranging from high-profile brands to industry associations, public affairs agencies and charities, and on a wide range of policy areas, the Senior Political Campaign Manager will take on primary responsibility for managing our PoliticsHome membership offering (with a portfolio of over 70 clients) as well as line managing junior members of staff. In particular, there will be a strong focus on renewing clients and overseeing the performance of individual campaigns using social media, ensuring that they are within budget. A key aspect of the role will also be nurturing the existing client base through monthly newsletter mail outs flagging opportunities for releasing content, in addition to demoing the service for new leads from sales. Ensuring our clients\xe2\x80\x99 messages cut through in the noisy world of politics is crucial, so the ability to come up with new and inventive content ideas, informed by good judgement and excellent client communication, is a key skill. It is essential to stay on top of the political and legislative agenda, identifying opportunities for clients to react to fast-moving policy and political developments. We are looking for someone who has had experience engaging with parliamentarians and political outreach. The successful candidate will have strong project and client management expertise to meet multiple deadlines at the same time, within budget and will work closely with colleagues across the business, especially the sales team, to deliver the most impactful campaigns. You will have the chance to work with household names like Coca Cola and EDF, in addition to some of our high-profile projects such as Greening the Nation.
Skills and Experience
Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A minimum of 5 years\xe2\x80\x99 experience in Public Affairs, Communications, Politics, Campaigns or Public Policy
  • An excellent understanding of UK politics and the policy environment
  • Great communication, presentation and client management skills
  • An understanding of social media and digital marketing
  • Strong project management skills, and the ability to handle multiple deadlines at the same time while being responsible for the profitability of the PoliticsHome Memberships
  • A track record of managing a range of client accounts
  • Experience working with online content management systems
  • Demonstrable record as a good team player
  • Excellent written and spoken English
