We're launching a new
clinical provision for our Activity and Intervention services
, specialist 90 day programs that use outdoor adventure and focused
support to break negative cycles
and inspire fresh starts. With high staffing ratios and a blend of outdoor challenges and educational opportunities, you'll help young people build confidence, discover new strengths, and prepare for successful community living.

We are looking for a
Senior Psychologist
who believes every child deserves safety, inclusion, and a strong sense of connection. You will bring experience supporting care experienced children and the teams around them, with a solid understanding of the challenges and risks they may face.
This flexible, varied role is ideal for experienced Psychologists passionate about child and adolescent mental health and creating trauma responsive, therapeutic environments that truly inspire and empower young people.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
Clinical
Provide specialist psychological input to Activity & Intervention teams.
Apply and promote the Keys Connect clinical model in practice.
Oversee assessment, formulation, and implementation of therapeutic plans.
Deliver psychological interventions using evidence-based methods.
Advise on placements and transitions for children in the Keys Group.
Conduct risk assessments and guide risk management.
Offer psychological guidance to carers and relevant professionals.
Teaching/Training/Supervision/Consultation
Deliver training on therapeutic approaches and applied psychology.
Advise colleagues on psychological assessment, interventions, and child trauma, attachment, and recovery
Teach, consult, and share expertise across services in line with Keys Connect.
Supervise and line manage team members as required.
Policy and Service Developmen
t
Contribute a psychological perspective to clinical service planning and development.
Support policy and service delivery improvements through project work.
Advise management on psychological needs and help implement changes.
Maintain strong communication with Local Authorities, NHS services, and other agencies.
Evaluation/Research
Stay up to date with research and apply evidence-based practice to support Keys Connect.
Coordinate administration of outcome measures.
Lead approved research on children and young people with complex needs.
Advise colleagues on research design and methodology.
Professional/administrative
Engage in supervision and ongoing professional development.
Follow ethical, professional, and Keys Group guidelines.
Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion; prevent bullying and harassment.
Maintain awareness of safeguarding and report incidents promptly.
Keep accurate records and collect relevant data.
Travel as required to fulfil role responsibilities.
About you
Essential:
HCPC registered as a Practitioner Psychologist.
Essential:
Knowledge of the impact of developmental trauma and adverse childhood experiences on life trajectories.
Essential:
Well-developed knowledge of the theory and practice of applied psychology and specialised psychological therapies in working with people with complex needs and/or difficulties.
Essential:
Experience of assessment and intervention with people who have a history of developmental trauma, neurodevelopmental needs and behavioural difficulties.
Essential:
Experience of providing consultation, training, support and supervision/reflective practice to other professionals and non-professionals.
Essential:
Experience of working as a qualified practitioner psychologist. Ideally, 2+years post qualification
Essential:
Experience of line management and of providing clinical supervision.
Essential:
Ability to work with high levels of autonomy within the scope of the job description and professional codes of conduct.
Essential:
Full clean driving licence and access to your own vehicle
Desirable:
Previous experience of working with care experienced children, including working with teams around the child.
Desirable:
Other clinical training such as CBT, Systemic Psychotherapy, DBT, DDP, EMDR
