The Role
To support our continued growth, we are seeking to recruit an Air Quality Consultant or Senior/Principal
Air Quality Consultant.
The successful candidate will support a wide range of on-going projects across sectors including transport,
energy, industry and government. You will have a client-facing role with responsibility in terms of
managing project teams and project delivery. You will lead and contribute to the development of
proposals for new work and for large and complex public and private sector tenders.
You will be involved in overseeing and delivering stand-alone air quality assessments for new
developments, preparing chapters for Environmental Statements including those that form part of
Development Consent Order (DCO) applications and undertaking leading edge research projects.
You will require detailed practical experience of atmospheric dispersion modelling, particularly for
transport and industry. In addition, you should have a good understanding of ambient air quality
monitoring methods for both particulate and gaseous species, and experience reviewing and critically
evaluating ambient monitoring results.
In this role, you will work closely with our senior team of experts to train and mentor junior staff,
supporting their professional development while also having the opportunity to take on line management
responsibilities.

Skills and experience we are looking for
Essential
Significant experience in the technical management of large and complex air quality assessments
Expert in atmospheric dispersion modelling, particularly for the assessment of air quality impacts
related to major transport and industrial infrastructure Wide understanding of ambient air quality monitoring methods
Working knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
Track-record in the consultancy sector with strong customer focus
Good communication skills, both orally and in writing
Strong technical capability and ability to review and interpret data
Full UK driving licence.
Desirable:
Odour monitoring and modelling experience
Experience of developing GHG inventories and considering climate change impacts
Environmental permitting and regulator liaison experience
Experience of working with other environmental disciplines including noise and biodiversity
Recent programming, machine learning, statistics and optimization experience
Qualifications:
Relevant A-Levels or equivalent
BSc or higher in an appropriate science-based discipline
Membership of relevant professional institutions, such as IAQM will also be taken into account.
