The Procurement team is pivotal to both the Sales and Service Delivery areas of Amber and as part of the team, you will find yourself responsible for negotiating and securing energy contracts with values ranging from 100k to several million pounds! We focus on tailoring bespoke procurement solutions for our clients and partnering them with the right supplier, whilst always providing exceptional service.
The Senior Procurement Analyst is responsible for managing all aspects of energy procurement for their assigned Tier 1 clients, mentoring other members of the Procurement team and contributing to ongoing improvements to ensure great customer service. If you've got energy procurement experience, you'll be well placed for the role, but equally you'll also need to be comfortable engaging directly with our customers as well as supporting account management and sales teams internally.
What will you be doing?
Undertake the tendering process for gas, electricity and water and produce analysis and recommendations through an executive summary.
Be the Procurement Lead for assigned clients, with responsibility for all procurement activity for them.
Engaging directly with the client, delivering an excellent customer-centred service and leaving the customer feeling like they have been provided with a credible and world class service.
Provide procurement advice and support in developing procurement strategies for assigned clients.
Attend client meetings and present to senior stakeholders at C-suite level as the Procurement Lead for assigned accounts.
Work with the Sales and Account Management teams to develop and deliver procurement solutions for assigned clients.
Build and maintain positive relationships with supplier partners and work with them to provide procurement solutions in line with agreed strategies.
Communicate effectively with the Trading team to ensure the right product has been put in place to allow them to operate in line with the trading strategy.
Coaching/mentoring of Procurement Analysts and Energy Co-Ordinators.
Ongoing development of procurement knowledge and keeping up to date with all regulatory and product changes.
What does good look like?
A strong experience in energy procurement with a deep understanding of the mechanics of fixed and flexible energy procurement products and energy markets to enable you to be able to hit the ground running.
Understanding of key regulatory and contractual information pertaining to energy supply contracts.
Detailed knowledge of UK energy markets.
Excellent attention to detail with a strong analytical background ensuring that there is a 'right first time' approach.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high change environment with an exceptional work ethic.
Experience communicating with I&C clients and conveying complex information simply.
A team player who is able to communicate within the team and beyond.
Strong IT skills- MS Excel, MS Word.
Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
