We are embarking on a strategic initiative that unites Pocket Gamer, Addicting Games, and a new eShop platform to create an interconnected ecosystem supporting discovery, curation, and direct monetisation of indie games.
This is a greenfield, 0-1 product leadership opportunity to build something from the ground up. You will own the product vision, strategy, and execution for the new Pocket Gamer Web Shop--a discovery platform and aggregated e-commerce destination for indie developers--while simultaneously revitalising Addicting Games as a modern casual games hub.
This role requires a senior product leader who has built platforms, marketplaces, or web shops before. You will work closely with leadership, internal dev teams, and external partners to define requirements, deliverables, and timelines, while representing the project to the wider games industry.
Top Priorities
Own end-to-end product strategy for the Pocket Gamer Web Shop and Addicting Games platform improvements
Lead 0-1 build of a marketplace/discovery platform, including templatized self-service storefronts, IAP solutions, and payment integrations
Build and leverage your network to secure developer participation, publisher partnerships, and industry credibility
Drive integration and cross-promotion across all three platforms (PG, AG, Web Shop) to create a virtuous traffic and monetisation loop
Represent the initiative externally at industry events, with partners, and to the developer community
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Development
Define the product vision, roadmap, and go-to-market strategy for the Web Shop and Addicting Games
Lead design and delivery of the web shop platform, including discovery/recommendation engine, self-service storefronts, IAP infrastructure, and payment solutions
Make build vs. buy decisions on tech stack, partnerships, and third-party integrations
Oversee updates to Addicting Games to improve curation, editorial integration, community features, and developer onboarding
Collaborate with engineering, design, and editorial teams to hit aggressive milestones
Own platform economics--ensure the business model works for developers, users, and the company
Partnership & Business Development
Build and maintain relationships with small- to mid-sized game developers and publishers
Secure launch partners and ongoing content supply for the Web Shop
Negotiate partnership terms, revenue shares, bundles, and cross-promotions
Leverage existing industry relationships or build new ones to establish credibility quickly
Work with payment providers, platform vendors, and technology partners
Commercial & Strategic Leadership
Monitor industry trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities
Make data-driven decisions on feature prioritisation, pricing models, and monetisation strategies
Partner with finance and leadership to manage budgets, forecast revenue, and evaluate ROI
Present strategic recommendations and progress updates to executive leadership
Cross-Functional Leadership
Lead a small, cross-functional team (internal and external resources) through influence and collaboration
Run weekly progress meetings, track KPIs, and ensure alignment across sales, marketing, content, and tech
Represent the product vision across the organisation and rally stakeholders around shared goals
Navigate ambiguity, make trade-offs, and keep the team focused on what matters most
