A southeast London design and build company are seeking an experienced Production manager to lead our production teams and oversee day to day production activities. About the Role:
The Senior Production Manager will be a key link between our design, production, and project management teams. They won't shy away from being hands-on and going the extra mile to support teams meet deadlines, resolve problems and maintain quality standards. Their leadership will be crucial to drive production performance, meet budgets and our clients' expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
Line manage workshop and production staff, providing day-to-day leadership and support
Collaborate with project managers to plan and coordinate production activities
Enable design teams by facilitating seamless transitions from concept to production
Resource planning and scheduling
Allocate and manage space to ensure optimal workflow and safety
Oversee subcontractor resourcing, including identifying upcoming requirements and providing support to the HR manager with recruitment and onboarding
Maintain and improve production processes with a commitment to continuous improvement
Attend weekly budget meetings and monitor department spends
Foster a people-first culture that promotes teamwork, accountability, and pride in a tidy and well-organised workspace
Champion a strong commitment to Health & Safety, ensuring compliance and best practices are always followed
About You:
Proven experience in a production management role, ideally from a scenic, set build or immersive specialist background
Passionate about making, with practical skills developed through practice
Excellent planning, organisation and leadership qualities
Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset
Passionate about process improvement and enabling teams to meet responsibilities
Committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient working environment
Ability to motivate, develop, and inspire teams
