Job purpose:

To develop and lead the production planning function within all areas of Operations.

Key Responsibilities: (Key Tasks)



Day-to-day responsibility for the Planning team and their development Work with management team to support strategic and operations planning Creates and maintains a clear lines of communication with Team Leaders, Production Managers, Project Manager, Sales and Buying teams daily Direct Master Scheduling activity, incorporating Forecasts into Master Production Schedules Generate and update daily, weekly and monthly production status reports Performs any necessary support functions as required by procurement process Manage all related MRP maintenance, including resolving problems with Engineering and Receiving and Inspection as necessary Proper and timely implementation of change orders Maintain optimal inventory levels through the active use of MRP and the maintenance of all required parameters including assembly lead times, days' supply, EOQ, for all assemblies Active support of R&D and new product activities Analyse data to update staff schedules (Capacity) to reach the agreed quota in the manufacturing process Monitor inventory levels and actively trial kit, whilst reviewing Minimum stock order levels and order increments Regularly provide production status updates to senior team whilst implementing and maintaining planning visual management tools Facilitate the timely delivery of products to customers, maintain OTIF expectation Closely monitor the production process to ensure that production orders are completed on time and within budget. MRP maintenance of timings and routings Support the continuous improvement drive throughout the business Creation and maintenance of KPI's Other duties as assigned.

Accountabilities: (Deliverables)



Raising, maintaining and closing all applicable works orders. The development and ownership of MRP and the training of others Schedule priorities workflow to ensure on time delivery. Monitor all materials. Develop team and support the Operational team. Assess production capacity and identify constraints to ensure optimal utilisation of resources. Work closely with production teams to balance workload and address any capacity issues proactively. Monitor inventory levels and adjust production schedules to maintain optimal stock levels. Implement inventory control measures to minimise excess or obsolete inventory. Develop and maintain up-to-date data for all relevant areas including daily/weekly/monthly reporting and managing the development and maintenance of Dashboards. Track lag and lead metrics such as schedule adherence, SLAs and in process indicators. Utilise data analytics tools to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make data-driven decisions. Generate regular reports on production performance, highlighting areas for improvement

Education/Qualifications (essential):



Educated in a technical or business management field

Education/Qualifications (desirable):



Technical training in project management advantageous

Technical Competencies (essential):



Proven competency in manufacturing resource planning / materials requirements planning Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings

Key Skills (essential):



MRP system functionality Microsoft Excel to advanced standard ideally: (pivot tables, vlookups advantageous) Production planning processes Outstanding communication skills Exceptional organisational and motivational skills Ability to work within a team is essential Must be computer literate

Experience (essential):



Production processes within an engineering business preferred MRP / ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics Navision most advantageous) Prior manufacturing experience 5 years of experience of manufacturing resource planning / materials requirements planning 5 years of Leadership experience is essential Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical communications

Maintain behaviour in compliance with Forum HSE requirements. Maintain responsibility and accountability through personal commitment and behaviour. Report any unsafe or environmentally unsound acts and conditions to their immediate Supervisor such that remedial action can be taken to manage the risk.
