Founded in 1883, Stockport County are one of the country's longest established football clubs. Initially formed as Heaton Norris Rovers, the Club officially became Stockport County in 1890 after the County Borough of Stockport and have been based at Edgeley Park since 1902.
The team currently competes in Sky Bet League One, the third tier of the English Football League, after winning the 2023-24 Sky Bet League Two title.
Role Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic
Coach
to join our
Academy
team. The postholder will be responsible for the U21 team of players and work closely with the staff to ensure the players are appropriately supported and developed at the club.
Key Responsibilities
Lead coaching duties for the Academy U21 age group.
A clear understanding of the Club and Coaching Philosophy, along with the VMOST plan.
Multi-disciplinary communication to ensure the well-being and holistic development of the Academy U21 players.
Organisation, delivery and management of the U21 Coaching and Games Programme.
Administration of player performance data for the Academy U21 squad.
Implementing and maintaining the Premier League's 'Elite Player Performance Plan' (EPPP) rules and regulations for the Academy Professional Development Phase.
Monitoring of players out on Loan, with reports provided.
Support of the recruitment plan.
Member of the Senior Coaching Team (SCT) with responsibility to further develop club philosophy and mentoring of coaches through their Staff Development Plans.
Essential
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with an ability to use a variety of communication tools (verbal, written, digital)
Strong organisational and administrative skills
IT skills to include the ability to use performance analysis software and Microsoft office
UEFA 'A' Licence Minimum
FA Youth Award Level 3 and working towards 17-21
Advanced Youth Award
Excellent knowledge of Professional Football.
Experience working in Academy or Senior Football within the Professional Phase.
