Job Description

This is a unique coaching opportunity at Alfreton Town FC, designed for an ambitious and innovative football coach. The successful candidate will play a pivotal dual role:

Overseeing and delivering the development of an Emerging Talent group

-- a group of high-potential players aged 18 to 23 who are part of the Alfreton first team. This will include up to four additional sessions per week, each tailored to individual player needs.

Serving as U23 Head Coach

, leading three weekly sessions and managing all aspects of the U23 squad's performance and progression.
You will be at the heart of Alfreton's player development pathway, with a rare opportunity to shape the careers of both first-team prospects and the club's emerging talent.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

Emerging Talent Group (First Team)

Oversee the progress and holistic development of six elite players within the first team environment. Plan, deliver, and review up to four additional weekly sessions, each tailored to the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological needs of individual players. Collaborate closely with first team staff to ensure alignment with club objectives and monitor individual progress. Provide ongoing mentorship and support, both on and off the pitch.
U23 Head Coach

Lead and deliver three high-quality training sessions per week for the U23 squad. Prepare the U23 squad for competition, including match preparation, team selection, and in-game management. Foster a positive, challenging, and developmental environment, preparing players for potential progression to the first team. Work collaboratively with other coaching staff to maintain a clear and effective player pathway.
Essential Criteria

UEFA B Licence (minimum). Proven experience coaching elite youth or young senior players within a professional football environment. Demonstrable ability to design and deliver bespoke individual development plans. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people.
Desirable Criteria

UEFA A Licence or working towards. Experience working with players transitioning from youth to first team football. Track record of successfully developing players for first team football. Experience in using performance analysis and modern coaching technology. Knowledge of the local football landscape and talent pathways.
