The Opportunity

We have a great opportunity to join us as a Project Accountant, here you will

Lead the delivery of financial data and analysis in the bid process for new aircraft bids into LHUK AW101 LoB. Required to translate customer bid requirements to be understood within the business and ensure bid scope is costed in accordance with instructions provided by the Business.

  • Assist in the transition of successful bids into AW101 contract execution team and provide advice and support to the ongoing delivery against secured contracts in relation to the financial assumptions, baseline data and projections that have been produced.
  • Provision of ad hoc financial analysis in support AW101 team and other LoB\'s for bid activity
What you will do
  • Generate financial analysis in support of aircraft bids made by LHUK for AW101 product. Confirm the correct application of financial strategy, policy and relevant accounting standards and support the approval of bids into Division and Leonardo
  • Consolidate submitted cost data from across Leonardo Helicopters and external partners.
  • Project the costs associated with the contract and support the estimate of price arising
  • Where applicable estimate price for UK MoD work taking into account the baseline profit rate published by the UK Government and adjusting as per the SSRO regulations for profit calculations
  • Establish and predict the cash contract value
  • Provide cost/ revenue value projection year on year
  • Critically review proposals to ensure costs are complete & realistic
  • Manage the risk from a financial perspective of the data that is being used to support bid submissions for new contracts.
  • Prepare the Profitability Analysis for onward briefing & approval
  • Support LHUK through negotiations as required
  • Complete financial analysis for contract flow down between legal entities and departments (compile Cost Price Make-Up)
  • Ensure bids align product investment plans into assumptions for non-recurring costs used on bids ensuring correct application of financial strategy, policy and relevant accounting standards.
  • Ensure there is credible data associated with quotes, analysis, contract engineering and production data, historical data, future cost, indexation and product development projection
  • Agree all financial estimates with functional teams prior to use for bid submission and the establishment of Commercial proposals.
  • Liaise across LHD to ensure each legal entity clearly understands the financial contract breakdown and trading arrangements.
  • Provide financial guidance & support in commercial negotiations with Customers/Partners
  • Support in the transition of successful bids AW101. Support the ongoing delivery against secured contracts in relation to the financial assumptions, baseline data and projections that have been produced.
  • Generate budget models in support of the LHUK budget process, including turnover, profit and cash forecasts for each contract as required.
  • You are responsible for taking reasonable care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your acts or omissions at work and to co-operate with managers, supervisors and others to enable the company to meet its statutory obligations for health, safety and environment.
  • Ad hoc projects as assigned by Finance Controller, AW101

What we are looking for
  • Educated to degree standard or holder of formal accounting qualification or qualified by experience (3 years)
  • High level of commercial awareness and the ability to liaise with senior project managers, commercial, engineering, manufacturing and supplier organisations as necessary.
  • Ability to deal with complex financial modelling in a time pressured environment. Ability to manage or mitigate the potential risks & opportunities to achieve business success.
  • Team player, who can work effectively as part of a cross functional team
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact at all levels within the Company. Able to represent the company through engagement with customers and partners within the financial framework.
  • Ability to understand supporting systems & processes and be able to generate continuous improvement in process under their control.
  • Good Excel skills essential. Knowledge of ProPricer / ProBidder useful but not essential
