The Opportunity:

Project Services are a specialist team delivering IT and business change projects with partners across the University. Our diverse project portfolio supports research, teaching and professional services. Our projects improve business efficiency, enhance student experience, maintain IT compliance and enable digital transformation. Our roles provide a wide variety of challenging and rewarding projects.

The post holder will provide project and programme management services for a range of Estates business activities including for example:

  • Facilities and Space Management - Estates are undertaking a major project to upgrade our Archibus Facilities Management system. The work will include a review of business processes, technology customisations and data quality to implement a more robust and effective solution
  • Operational Optimisation - Estates have many specialist IT systems supporting business activities including Building and Energy Management, Environmental Monitoring, Capital Project Management and Security. Plans are underway to upgrade or replace several of these systems to leverage the latest technologies, improve integration and optimise business benefits.
  • Smart Data - This is a growing area which utilises Estates data and modern IT solutions to support evidence-based decision making in areas including space management, energy use, travel planning and student experience.
Your skills and attributes for success:
  • Extensive experience working as a Project Manager in a professional business environment to consistently deliver successful outcomes on a range of large and complex projects
  • Significant track record of working closely with IT specialists to successfully leverage IT systems and technologies to deliver business benefits
  • Experience working as a Programme Manager, or as a Project Manager on large projects, to successfully deliver multiple related projects or work streams
  • Evidenced ability to consistently obtain positive results through leading, supporting and coaching multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Excellent leadership abilities and communication skills to establish strong relationships and positively influence, guide and challenge project sponsors and stakeholders
