About the role

Balfour Beatty's Power Transmission & Distribution team is seeking an experienced

Senior Project Manager (Cabling)

to lead our high-profile

BTNO Project

in Ipswich.



This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic leader to have

overall accountability for successful project delivery

- including

initiation, planning, design, delivery, monitoring, commissioning and handover/closeout

.

What you'll do

Take full ownership of the project lifecycle, ensuring objectives for time, cost, quality, scope, risk and benefits are achieved. Act as a

change agent

, providing strong leadership and management to inspire and coordinate a multidisciplinary team to deliver outstanding results. Determine and implement the most effective means of satisfying customer and project requirements. Drive performance, innovation, and continuous improvement across all phases of the project.

What you'll be doing

Prepare both internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders Ensure reports provide relevant information which enables decisions to be made which are informed, cost effective and in line with overall strategy Lead a relentless focus on Zero Harm & keep up to date with changes in legislation Develop, implement and update resource allocation plans (OBS) and raise appropriate requests Develop high performing diverse teams, promote a pipeline of talent and assist with internal training through supporting, guiding, motivating and empowering the team. Using the resources available through training, mentoring and performance management Lead risk/opportunity reviews, present the Risk Register and recommend/implement changes Ensure procurement plans are available in line with the overall project plans, such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines Ensure all work is undertaken with a view towards handover and certification Develop, implement, review and periodically update resource loaded schedules Ensure that expenditure is in line with the budget and that resources are utilised efficiently to ensure cost control Advocate consistency and reliability of digital data to support successful project delivery - data driven decisions

Who we're looking for

The following qualities/experience are essential:


Able to demonstrate a track record of project delivery Experience in implementing safe systems of work Good understanding of the standard forms of contracts Proficient in commercial/project management communications Able to communicate effectively both verbal and written with all levels of the organisation Effective team management skills which empower, influence & inspire others to build effective teams. Providing mentoring and support to members of the team where required Commercially astute Able to undertake work in high pressure situations Good knowledge of performance evaluation techniques and key metrics A record of a solutions based approach to problem solving The ability to see the business vision and inspire this shared vision amongst

the team


The following qualities/experience are desirable:


Experience of working on a variety of project types Is a member of a professional management body i.e. APM Proficient on O365 Holds a current driving license Attend and contribute to industry events Holds a formal qualification (BSc/MSc) in management/construction or

experience equivalent
Holds either the APM PFQ/PMQ/PPQ Holds CSCS and SMSTS or Equivalent
