About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant or Senior Project Manager with Light Rail Experience and Signalling to join our Engineering Consultancy Services Business Unit to safely deliver \xc2\xa350-100m portfolios of challenging rail infrastructure projects, for clients such as Network Rail, Transport for London, HS2, Train Operating Companies and many more.

You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team and will be instrumental in the growth of Egis. Based in London with travel to South London

Duties & responsibilities

  • Plan and manage a portfolio of non-complex/complex projects throughout the complete project lifecycle
  • Responsible for providing a clear vision and team direction by leading a high-performing team through the effective management, development and empowerment of staff.
  • Responsible for providing effective performance and development management responsibilities for any direct reports, with regards to appraisals and performance management, (such that poor performance is clearly identified and addressed, and good performance is recognised and rewarded).
  • Responsible for compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and championing the Health and Safety culture, resolving arising issues or escalating as appropriate and ensuring safe delivery in line with the corporate safety vision.
  • Propose and agree on contract strategy with key internal stakeholders. Produce Invitations to Tender documentation and manage procurement events to secure all necessary contracts for successful portfolio delivery.
  • Lead on post-contract management, including management of early warnings, contract change and change control.
  • Retain full control of project programmes, integrate supply chain programmes and challenge slippage. Work collaboratively to develop and implement mitigation measures.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day management of project governance, reporting and control structures, with issues, risks and decisions escalated through the agreed Governance arrangements as appropriate.
  • Lead all financial reporting, including periodic senior management board meetings
Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Attributes
  • Essentials (minimum requirements for interview) Member of the Association of Project Management (or equivalent)
  • A degree or equivalent
  • Relevant experience in project management and delivering complex rail projects
  • Experience implementing GRIP, PACE, Pathway or other project management methodologies
  • Strong NEC3 contract administration experience
  • Ability to intergrate project programmes (P6 and/or MSP)
  • Strong financial management/control experience
  • Signalling Experience @ Thales or Siemans Systems
  • Procuremnet Experience - Tenders (OJEU)
  • Right to work in the UK
Desirables (not essential, but highly advantageous)
  • Chartered Project Manager NEC
  • ECC Project Manager Accreditation
