At Sheffield Forgemasters we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our Customer Programmes function.



This role sits in our Customer Programmes department, based at our 64-acre site, sitting in the heart of Sheffield. The department provides effective account management for our clients; oversees the implementation of commercial contracts; plans and project manages all aspects of the product and solution delivery to our customers, ensuring a high-level of satisfaction, within budget and on time.



As a Senior Project Manager, you will working in our AWE (Atomic Weapons Establishment) workstream, managing and delivering medium to long term projects of up to 70m in annual revenue.

What you'll be doing





Delivering projects using standard project governance and methodology, promoting a "best in class" service for customers.


Managing projects that lead to growth and development of existing business.


Establishing robust operating procedures and reporting mechanisms.


Building engagement and commitment across the team to drive through deliverables and objectives which have been defined, agreed and require delivery to schedule.


Planning and managing project budgets.


Communicating project progress, issues, escalations and facilitating resolutions where required.


Managing issues and risks proactively to minimise adverse impact on time, cost and quality.


Establishing effective change control processes to manage customer needs against requirements.


Conducting learning and post-project reviews, for continuous improvement.

About You





Having an Engineering degree is desirable but not essential.


Experience working in a APM / Prince 2 project management environment.


Solution design, cost modelling and data analysis skills.


Experience managing the full project lifecycle and delivering large scale, complex technical projects.


Ability to manage a complex supply chain.


Strong Microsoft Excel skills.


A strong customer relationship builder.


Ability to lead and define risk governance processes and reviews on behalf of the Customer Programmes Team.


Capable of translating ideas into practical solutions.


An awareness of and a capability to manage project budgets and implement control mechanisms.


A leader of people.


An excellent communicator at all levels.

The Working Pattern





This is a full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. We offer flexibility in our start and finish times between 06:15 - 09:30 and 14:30 - 18:00.
