About the Role:
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager / Associate with a strong civil engineering background to lead and manage complex projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in the water sector and/or experience with renewable energy projects such as Solar PV farms, and electrical substations.
As a Senior PM / Associate, you will take ownership of projects from inception to completion, manage client relationships, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the growth and strategic direction of the business.
You will manage a team of Project Managers, Design engineers and Technicians.
Core role requirements:
Below represents the core responsibilities of this role; this is by no means an exhaustive list:

  • As a Senior Project Manager / Associate you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians.
  • You will assist the Head of Department in business development and financial management.
  • Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with the delivery of large-scale infrastructure projects, structures, facilities, and systems.
  • Overseeing comprehensive project planning, including the design and implementation of projects.
  • Facilitating coordination among civil, and structural disciplines to ensure a cohesive system design.
  • Managing communications with all project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Preparing and managing the Project Design Programme and reporting of same to the client
  • Tendering for new work.
  • Managing the contractual and commercial aspects of the project
  • Comply with and instil best practice to all Health & Safety aspects of the project in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Meet agreed objectives in the areas of timely delivery, cost, quality, and client satisfaction.
  • Prepare and review project proposals, budgets, schedules, and risk registers.
  • Ensure compliance with UK regulations, health & safety standards, and industry best practices.
  • Contribute to business development and strategic planning initiatives.
  • Maintaining a culture of continuous improvements across all aspects of the working environment and projects.
  • To ensure maximum flexibility and to reflect the Company's evolving needs, additional tasks and responsibilities will form part of this role as it evolves.
Qualifications and Experience: -
  • Project Manager Qualification / Chartered or near-chartered civil engineer CEng/MICE/MCIWEM but not essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK design standards, construction methods, and relevant legislation.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to develop and understand programmes (eg Microsoft Project)
  • Experience in civil engineering project management, preferably in:
  • Water sector: wastewater or clean water treatment plants - Civil infrastructure (process design experience not required)
  • Renewable energy projects, e.g., solar PV farms
  • Civil engineering design for electrical substations - Civil infrastructure (HV cable design experience not required)
  • Excellent clear and concise communication skills and the ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural team.
  • You will have an agile and "Can Do" mindset.
