Job Description

About UCL
Founded in 1826 in the heart of London, UCL is a radically different university - the first in England to welcome students of any religion and to admit women on equal terms. Today, UCL is home to over 50,000 students and 16,000 staff and consistently ranks among the world's top 10 universities.
The Vice-President External Engagement (VPEE) team leads UCL's communications and marketing activity, ensuring that the university's public profile and reputation reflect its global excellence in research, education and innovation.
About the role
The Senior Publications Officer plays a key role in managing UCL's student recruitment publications and digital prospectuses, helping to attract prospective students and showcase UCL's world-leading brand. Working closely with academic faculties, central departments and ISD colleagues, you will produce engaging, compliant and brand-aligned content that supports UCL's recruitment goals. You'll also manage supplier relationships, guide content creators, and promote best practice in editorial and digital presentation.
Key responsibilities

  • Project manage the scheduling and production of UCL's prospectuses and related recruitment materials.
  • Build relationships with content owners to support accurate, compliant content creation.
  • Provide training, guidance and resources to maintain quality and consistency across communications.
  • Manage budgets and supplier relationships for print and digital projects.
  • Ensure all materials meet CMA and UCL brand standards.
  • Collaborate with ISD to enhance digital prospectus systems and web interfaces.
  • Conduct competitor and sector reviews to support continuous improvement.
  • Write, edit, proofread, and where required, design and typeset materials.
This fixed-term role runs from 17 November 2025 to 31 May 2026 and is based at UCL's Kings Cross/St Pancras office for two days per week on a hybrid basis.
