Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. Based in London, the UPCG Publicity team is responsible for the strategic planning, implementation, and project management of integrated publicity campaigns across all UPCG and select Focus Features releases globally across the entire lifecycle of the release - from pre-production through to production, theatrical, home entertainment, TV/SVOD and beyond!


The team's purpose is to ensure all campaigns meet strategic objectives and support business priorities. We consistently collaborate with internal and external teams to provide strategic publicity input alongside broader marketing strategy contributions to ensure the execution of holistic marketing campaigns globally. The Global Publicity team not only works on a global strategical level but is also here to work with local publicity teams to understand specific local market strategies, concerns and nuances.


The role reports to the VP, Global Publicity and includes a degree of travel and work outside of office hours. Key responsibilities include development and co-ordination of publicity campaigns across a range of projects as well as maintenance of good working relationships with a range of key internal and external stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:



Approving and writing global publicity guidelines and sharing best practice Foster positive and productive relationships with talent reps, producers and licensors Draft PR briefs and strategies Manage, challenge and facilitate agencies Partnership development and accountability (e.g. local distributors, broadcast partners and music) Overseeing territory liaison and logistics for global junkets, set visits and press trips Event management of premieres and festival launches Awards campaigning Source and build strategies around assets, creating materials to support publicity / digital activities Build effective working relationships across the marketing team, reporting on campaign progress. Work with cross divisional teams to drive synergies across NBCU. Ensure regular updates are given to the head of the department and team leaders on any given campaign. Manage overall budgets and campaign financial management Manage two direct reports: Senior Publicist & Junior Publicist ensuring they are well-supported to develop


Qualifications



The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas:

Theatrical film distribution publicity (essential) Inclusive leadership and mentoring (essential) In-depth understanding of PR, media and marketing and social media strategy (essential) Experience of writing formal communications and delivering presentations (desirable) Experience in awards campaigning (desirable) On the ground publicity experience at major festivals (desirable) Red carpet / premiere event management (desirable) In depth knowledge of UK media relationships (desirable) Excellent negotiation, influencing and interpersonal skills Excellent organisation and project management skills Excellent English language skills (written and spoken) Gravitas in dealing with senior internal and external stakeholders Solution orientated, commercially focused and deadline driven Ability to self-motivate, show initiative and tenacity at all times Able to demonstrate innovation and imagination in approach to publicity campaigns Strong business acumen Writing and approving global publicity guidelines and sharing best practice Organise logistics for allocated global junkets and liaise with territories
